7 Days 6 Nights The Ultimate Sandakan Tour

Day 1 – Welcome to Kota Kinabalu

Upon arrival, transfer for city tour. First visit the Sabah City Mosque, also known as the floating mosque. Next visit the Puh Toh Shi Buddist Temple – Built in year 1980, the building stands out with its traditional Chinese roofing and structure. After that, visit the tallest architectural in Kota Kinabalu, The Yayasan Tower standing 122 meters high, also officially known as Menara Tun Mustapha (Sabah
Foundation Building). Built in 1977, this 30-storey circular glass sculpture boasts a unique edifice utilizes a single column structure that is one of the very few in the world. Lunch at local restaurant. Our representative will send you to hotel for check in and transfer for dinner

Day 2 – Sepilok Orang Utan/Sun Bear/Rainforest Discovery Centre/Sepilok Jungle Resort

Meet on upon arrival at SDK airport or pick up at respective hotels as listed on above. Transfer to Sepilok Jungle Resort (SJR). Then, take a 5 mins. Leisure walk to the nearby Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, watching one of the nature’s most endangered animal species, the ‘Orang Utan’, in local language swing from branches to branches towards to the feeding station in the forest. Watch the scheduled video show programme (25mins), visit to the Exhibition Hall. After Sepilok, proceed to Sun Bear Conservation Center to see the world’s smallest bear in its natural environment. Lunch en route at SJR. Afternoon, second visit to the sanctuary for the afternoon feeding. After Sepilok, continue a visit to Rainforest Discovery Centre situated within the famous Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve. The Exhibition Centre & Plant Discovery Centre will bring you lots of information about the nature in the area. After that, a chance to walk on a suspension bridge and ending it with the only Canopy Walk in Sandakan. Dinner & stay overnight at SJR.

Day 3  – Sepilok Jungle Resort/Turtle Island

Breakfast. By 0815hrs, depart SJR, transfer to CQ Jetty for Selingan Turtle Island. This journey by motorised boat will take about 1 hour. After lunch, grab your mask, fins and snorkel and head to the beach where you can find lots of juvenile marine life. Or, you can choose to relax or sun bathing by the beach. Before dinner, treat yourself to a slide show featuring information of the turtle park and turtles. After dinner, standby at the Cafeteria. Wait for Park Ranger’s signal before proceed in a small group to the egg-laying site to witness the mother turtle laying eggs, transferring of eggs to the hatchery and releasing of hatchlings to the sea. Stay overnight at Selingan Island Chalet.

Day 4  – Turtle Island/Sandakan Nature City/Cave/Bats watching/ Kinabatangan River

After breakfast, depart island by 0700hrs and return to mainland. Then, proceed for the Sandakan Nature City Tour. Visit to Sandakan Memorial Park, Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple, located on a steep hill top where you can have a magnificent view overlooking Sandakan Bay & the Town Centre. Then, continue to one of the oldest church in Sabah, St. Michael’s Church. Drive to the Central Market where you can see the local produce and fresh seafood being sold. Visit to the Agnes Keith Museum. Stop at the nearby English Tea House. Lunch enroute. After lunch, we will continue overland to Gomantong Cave to explore the largest limestone and bird nests cave in Sabah where millions of swiftlets make the cave their home. After visiting the cave, wait at the cave entrance to witness the feeding of bathawk on millions of bats that merge out from the cave in search for food. Transfer to Bilit Adventure Lodge after that for dinner and overnight.
Optional: Night walk can be arranged, pay locally @ RM10.00 nett p/pax/hrs.

Day 5  – Kinabatangan River/Jungle Walk/Kinabatangan River

Wake up at 0530hrs. 0600hrs, depart for an early morning river cruise to see wildlife. After the 1hours boat cruise, return back to Bilit Lodge for breakfast. Late morning, depart for a guided jungle walk. Trek back to lodge. Freshen up. Lunch. Afternoon, depart for second afternoon river cruise. Dinner & stay second night at Bilit Adventure Lodge.

Day 6 – Kinabatangan River/Sandakan/Kota Kinabalu

After breakfast, depart Bilit by 0830hrs and return to Sandakan. Transfer to Sandakan airport for flights back to Kota Kinabalu. Transfer to hotel and free at own leisure.

Day 7 – Kota Kinabalu – Home Sweet Home

Free at own leisure until transfer to airport for flights back home.
